The Department of Global Health is established jointly in the UW School of Medicine and the School of Public Health with a mandate to harness the extraordinary expertise, energy, and creativity of faculty across all 17 UW schools and colleges to create one of the most comprehensive academic global health programs in the world.
Physicians for Social Responsibility is a non-profit advocacy organization founded in 1961, that is the medical and public health voice for policies to prevent nuclear war and proliferation and to slow, stop and reverse global warming and toxic degradation of the environment. PSR’s 32,400 medical and health professionals and concerned citizen members, 31 PSR chapters, over 60 Student PSR chapters at medical and public health schools, and over 25,000 e-activists, along with national and chapter board members and staff, form a unique nationwide network committed to a safe and healthy world.
The Center for Global Studies (CGS) is is one of eight National Resource Centers housed in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle. CGS possesses an extraordinary breadth of faculty, staff, and student expertise on different parts of the world as well as an institutional commitment to connecting the events of particular moments in time and parts of the world to the larger forces that shape our present and future. Through a myriad of programs and activities, the Center provides resources to teachers, the public, government servants, business community, local media and others while educating students to live and work effectively in the internationalized economy of our region and nation.
The Washington Global Health Alliance (WGHA) works to enhance and expand Washington’s global health impact and showcase our region’s role as a leading center for global health activities.

The UCLA Global Health Training Program was established in 2005 as a joint NIH-UCLA initiative aimed at expanding capacity for global health research, education and service in order to reduce health disparities worldwide. The approach is multidisciplinary integrating social, behavioral, cultural, epidemiologic, biologic, economic and political aspects of health.
The Center for Global Public Health is a multidisciplinary center at UC Berkeley that serves to synergize faculty research on critical global health issues, facilitate the training of the next generation of researchers and leaders in global public health, inform and educate the media, government, multi-lateral agencies, the general public and private sector donors about global health issues and solutions, and foster partnerships to facilitate evidence-based implementation designs that delivers measurable public health impact at the community level.

Named after Dr. Jieh Jow Liou, the Liu Institute conducts and facilitates research on global issues, mobilizing knowledge into solutions and policy. One of sixteen research units in the College for Interdisciplinary Studies (CFIS), the Institute takes an interdisciplinary problem-solving approach to explore new ideas and ways of learning to catalyze innovative thinking and positive societal change. Its current focus is on advancing sustainability, security, and social justice: understood as moving toward economic, social, and environmental interactions that promote the well-being of people in ways that are just, equitable, and sustainable.
The Global Health Council is the world’s largest membership alliance dedicated to saving lives by improving health throughout the world. Our diverse membership is comprised of health-care professionals and organizations that include NGOs, foundations, corporations, government agencies and academic institutions that work to ensure global health for all.
